This is a suggestion: Open up all the levels. You will still get one point for each level you solve. But you dont have to solve the levels in a consecutive order. If you solve all levels up to 270, but skip level 152 and level 199 then you will have 268 points. An advantage is that you will be able to play the new, recently added, levels immediately. A lot of players will get scores around 250-270, but only the players that have completed level 152 and the other really tricky levels will be in the top 10. On the menu page, you can step up and down in the level indicator, just like now, and there will be an indicator showing if the level is solved. There will also be a text, e.g. "Unsolved levels: 17, 62, 75, 152, 199" Please let me know what you think about this!
I have a new idea though. Instad of opening up all the levels, make it possible to skip one level. E.g. when you have solved level 5, you can choose to play number 6 or 7. So, if you want, you can skip every 2nd. The reason that I suggest this is that I want to make it an effort to get to the last level. And a new player would have difficulties to choose which level to start with, if he has over 300 levels to choose among.
Of course, you will still only get a point for every completed level.
So, what do you think, is this ok, or do you prefer that we open up all levels?
Finally, I have updated Cosmic Connection, so you can skip up to 5 levels.
Exampe 1: If you start for the first time, you can choose to play level 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. As soon as you solve one of these, level 6 will become available.
Example 2: If you have soved all levels up to 165, but skipped level 62, 74 and 152, you will have 162 points (165-3) and you will be able to play one of these 5 levels: 62, 74, 152, 166, 167
This update will result in higher points, more players will soon reach the last level. Right now we have around 310 levels. We need more people to build more levels. If you want to be able to publish a few more levels than your 'quota' than talk to me.
